One of the basic tenets of Air Products’ 4S philosophy is Speed. Our state-of-the-art engineering, technology and manufacturing centers, strategically located in emerging markets around the world, enable us to act with speed and to be innovative in response to our customers’ needs.
Pune Engineering Center
Air Products operates a world-class Engineering Center in Pune, India that provides technology and equipment for air separation, hydrogen generation and associated technologies for industrial gas applications. The Center acts as an Engineering, Procurement and Construction innovation hub for our operations in India and throughout the world.
For nearly two decades, Air Products has had a presence in India, one of the fastest growing economies. The Pune Engineering Center continues to expand our presence in the country by maintaining strong relationships with existing business and joint venture partners, and by forging strong relationships with key stakeholders to develop solutions for the local market and provide excellent service to customers.
Asia Technology Center
Our Asia Technology Center in the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park in Shanghai, China is equipped with state-of-the-art research and development (R&D) capabilities to support the fast-paced development of the China and Asia markets through advanced applications technologies. The Center houses seven laboratories serving a wide range of high-growth markets, including environment, new energy, advanced electronics, metals processing, food and beverage, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, and glassmaking.
Air Products was the first global industrial gas company to establish an internal R&D capability of its kind in China in 2005. Our Asia Technology Center has gone through several expansion cycles and is one of our key technology centers in the world.
Saudi Arabia Technology Center
Air Products has worked in Saudi Arabia since the 1970s and has been making long-term investments in the country since 2012 in conjunction with joint venture partners. Today we operate a world-class industrial gases technology center in the Dhahran Techno Valley Science Park that serves as the cornerstone for our industrial gas technology and project development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Middle East region.
The Center provides technology expertise in support of new opportunities for industrial gases, focusing on improvements in process safety, energy efficiency, reliability and operational excellence to serve regional customers. It is also a base for collaboration with regional universities.
U.S. Technology Center
Our U.S.Technology Center, located in Pennsylvania (USA), is our global center of technology development. At this site, we operate world-class adsorption, cryogenic, food freezing, grinding, clean energy and hydrogen reactions labs, where we work on advances to a wide range of processes for gas separation, purification and applications. Our technical experts use proprietary fundamental measurements and modeling at bench through pilot scale to design products with improved performance and energy efficiency.
Caojing Cryogenic Equipment Manufacturing Center
Our Caojing Cryogenic Equipment Manufacturing Center is situated in Shanghai, China. The Center provides cold box engineering and design, and cryogenic air and hydrocarbon separation columns and cold-boxes fabrication for worldwide projects. It also provides site manufacturing support, including column and box site joining, on-site column retrofit and aluminum equipment repair of operating plants.
Certified to ISO9001 and various international codes, our Caojing Manufacturing Center designs and manufactures products to specific customer requirements and world-class quality standards. Located adjacent to a deep water jetty, the Center is capable of making world-scale, shop-fabricated equipment.
Port Manatee Equipment Manufacturing Center
At our Port Manatee equipment manufacturing facility in Florida (USA), we manufacture small, medium and very large size cryogenic coil wound heat exchangers to support the LNG market. The roughly 400,000-square-foot facility provides ready access to port services, enabling us to manufacture LNG heat exchangers in the wide range of sizes demanded by the market. Most recently, we added a state-of-the-art equipment test facility that allows for the collection of data to develop designs for the next generation of our innovative coil wound heat exchangers.
At the Port Manatee facility, we also produce equipment used in our air separation and hydrocarbons businesses, such as columns, vessels, cold boxes, prefabricated plant modules and skids.
Air Products PRISM® Membranes Manufacturing Center
Air Products PRISM® Membrane (APPM) products are manufactured exclusively at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri (U.S.). This one-of-a-kind membrane manufacturing plant is outfitted with custom production equipment that is designed for flexible manufacturing. Technicians can re-tool critical components to rapidly change between fiber types, allowing the plant to adjust to varying product demand loads.
The self-contained business is the commercial, research and manufacturing center for all PRISM membrane products. The close relationship between researchers, engineers and manufacturing technicians enables us to commercialize membrane fiber concepts with speed.
Rotoflow® Equipment Manufacturing Center
Our Rotoflow® Equipment Manufacturing Center is located in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania (U.S.). With leading-edge research and development, coupled with our expertise from both manufacturing and operating plants, our engineers and technicians continue to lead the way in product innovation.
The 18,000-square-foot facility is outfitted with state-of-the-art balancing and machining equipment, precision inspection equipment, ambient and cryogenic spin testing, and pressure testing to ensure we can efficiently manufacture and repair all types of turbomachinery equipment, which is critical to plant operation.
Rotoflow is ISO 9001 certified, and our turbomachinery is designed for reliability and manufactured to stringent safety requirements.
